this photobook is the third part of the project ‘trails, traces and remains’ where andré penteado proposes a reflection on the formation of brazilian subjectivity through a visual investigation of facts that occurred before the invention of photography or that did not have photographic iconography at the time. inspired by the farroupilha revolution, the artist traveled, over two years, through rio grande do sul looking for images that link the past to the present and expose the complexity of the developments caused by that historical fact.
a hundred photographs from this series were concatenated on the large-format pages of the book — totaling 48 × 34 cm when opened. its title is shown in the folders that wrap the interior of the publication, in a sequential construction of fragments.
