sesc videobrasil, 2019
the twenty-first edition of the international contemporary art biennial sesc_videobrasil has as its theme ‘imagined communities’. within this scope, the aim is to hear the voices of those who are generally left out of the contemporary art mainstream circuit.
curated by solange farkas, gabriel bogossian, luisa duarte and miguel lópez, the exhibition took place at sesc 24 de maio and was expanded in a public programme, recorded in the form of a book of essays.
the visual identity of the exhibition visually enunciates, as the curators define in their curatorial text, the presence of communities ‘created by different imaginations from those that formed national states’.
